In Scotland, rye has been used in whisky-making dating as far back as 1784. Our high rye contains a mash bill of rye, barley, and wheat with at least 60% rye. The whisky is aged in first-fill and refill American oak casks at our bonded warehouses. Johnnie Walker High Rye is a rich and rounded blend of whiskies crafted from rye, barley, and wheat married with the finest single malts.
The new offering has a perfectly balanced taste that includes the sweet orchard fruit notes from Cardhu, rich berry fruit notes from Glenkinchie, and subtle wisps of smoke from Caol Ila. Blended with rye and grain whiskies distilled at the Cameronbridge and Teaninich distilleries, Johnnie Walker High Rye Blended Scotch Whisky was crafted to be an exceptional whisky perfect for mixing cocktails like a Manhattan, yet pleasantly smooth to be enjoyed on its own.Â
